Do you ever look around at other peoples lives and wonder why things look so easy and so effortless for them while every day you feel like you are struggling both personally and professionally? What do you think is limiting you from connecting with your true happiness and overall life success? Do you believe that life is a series of trials and struggles that you “have to get through” just to get by? If you are like most, life can become a series of having to make important choices based on what we see around us, advice from family and friends, or social constructs that we are expected to adhere too. If we go to college or not, what college, life partner, kids or no kids etc. We pivot to our conventional wisdom of what’s the best option I have available to me right now…..okay. I’ll take it!! I’m not trying to make light of anything because we honestly don’t know, what we don’t know! But one misguided decision then builds on another and suddenly we look back at that last 25 years and may ask ourselves…What happened? How did I get here? Is this as good as it gets? Contrary to these common notions about “adulting”; life is actually meant to be enjoyed! So how do we right this course and get to the place that we are living intentionally, and enjoying a natural flow to our lives that we couldn’t have imagined?

LIVING OUR BEST LIVES

“Don’t die with your music still inside of you.” Dr. Wayne Dyer

You might look like a Lexus on the outside, but what’s under the hood? – You can fool everyone else around you, but you can never fool yourself and your spirit. They know the real you. You may do a good job putting up a façade to the world but you are doing yourself no favors by attempting to lie to yourself that you are happy and content and grateful for your blessings etc etc. Unless you cut the act and address the inside issues with your obstacles to happiness and success you will never arrive at the place of pure unadulterated contentment and joy. It takes HONESTY and AUTHENTICITY, to begin to recognize and address the areas of sadness, lack, self-loathing, hurt and anger we’ve carried around our entire lives. We have to understand how we arrived at those self-limiting beliefs in order to be able to move forward to a place of healing, authentic living and setting boundaries for ourselves and others. After all it was the breaching of the boundaries that got us to this place to begin with. We need to obtain the ability to connect with the best and highest version of ourselves by first identifying and then purging these belief patterns that we allowed to be reinforced over and over. (Please note that this doesn’t mean that everything will always go perfectly for you once you’ve healed, it just means that you will be content and optimistic about your life and the path forward.)

Limiting beliefs and self-talk are what keeps us stuck. – Why am I feeling so lonely even when I’m surrounded by people? I feel invisible. I am not good enough to really be loved and accepted. Nobody really cares about me; I will always be alone. I will be outed for being a fraud at work. Everyone is so much smarter and more creative than me. I will never be able to have a house, car, clothes and lifestyle as nice as theirs. I hope I don’t embarrass myself! Look at me, I am a failure.

Little goals set and little goals met are the gateway to achieving bigger goals that we dare to dream for ourselves. – Once you’ve taken the time to do a deep dive into yourself and figure out how you arrived at some of the limiting beliefs that have perceivably held you back from connecting with your purposed filled and inspired life; what do you do next? Well, we are multi-dimensional people; we have so many parts to ourselves that could use a little TLC.

Make success buckets for yourself titled: Personal Development, Career, Spiritual Practice. For instance, in your personal development area, if you are frustrated because you feel unproductive and/or unorganized, then the best place to start is your own closet! Tackle the small job like organizing your closet so when you wake up in the morning to start your day your clothes are wonderfully aligned and ready for you to wear. It feels like a breath of fresh air when you unclutter your closet because after all, a cluttered room/closet, is indictive at times of a cluttered unmotivated mind. Get organized and just see the benefits; you will feel good and motivated in the morning and ready to take on more small challenges in order to keep that good feeling going. Success attracts success!

Get out of your own way – Once you have locked into the ability to know and understand how to identify and live out your purposed filled inspired life, most choices of consequence should be a little easier to make because you now are evaluating things from a fully informed position. You fully understand what seems and feels right to you and you have developed the ability to act on those feelings and intuition and less upon the advice or chiding of others. Trust your gut, and pursue the things that make you feel energized, invigorated and alive. It may mean that you have to turn down some low hanging fruit or things that would bring immediate gratification but in the in the long run will obviously be a bad fit and deflating to your forward momentum. You have to really put yourself and your dreams and goals first at times in order to achieve maximum life impact.

You can’t pour from an empty pitcher. If you want to continue to engage and give 100% to your career, family and spiritual practice, then you have to first replenish yourself to do so.
